Vocaphagia o la indigerible (in)utilidad is a performance that seeks to chew, swallow, (in)digest or regurgitate some of the voices that pass through us, breaking down the binaries and categorisations imposed by patriarchy and Western-centric thinking. The creation of this performance involved the collaboration of various people who identify as women and gender dissidents, who shared their voices and stories to be chewed over.

This practice is developed within the framework of the project ‘Re-vocalising the Echo: constructing bodily and vocal feminist narratives based on post-humanist thought and practice’ / PhD in Theatre and Performance Studies, FLUL. This work is supported by the FCT – Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P., under project reference 2023.00720.BD and DOI https://doi.org/10.54499/2023.00720.BD.
