Macbeth o el viaje del poder (Macbeth or the Journey of Power) is a musical-theatrical-visual performance that tells the story of the Macbeths, a couple who came to the crown of Scotland through murder and who, inevitably, succumbed as a result of the monstrosity of their actions. As a team we proposed to establish a dialogue between the themes raised by the original drama of W. Shakespeare and our contemporaneity, generating a critical point of view about the values of today’s politics, where corruption is a constant. With this aim in mind, we turned to rock, a musical genre of mass consumption, susceptible to experimentation and eminently rebellious. As a result, we generated a sequence of songs performed live, appealing to the format of a concert. To this, we add a series of poetic, audiovisual and costume and lighting design interventions, with which we manage to articulate a multisensorial transdisciplinary performance proposal.
